Mike Shenefield

Mike specializes in Mergers & Acquisitions focusing on the acquisition and divestiture of middle-market businesses in the Florida and Georgia markets.  His background as a corporate executive involved in M&A work and serving as an intermediary in this space dates back more than 35 years.  Over this 35+ year career in the M&A space, Mike has been involved in several middle-market acquisitions and divestitures across a broad span of industries to include manufacturing, service, and distribution.

For the past several years, Mike has served in an executive management capacity in the Material Handling Industry, focusing on financial management, acquisitions, and business development. During this time, he led two major acquisitions, one for a large strategic buyer and one for a Private Equity Company based in New York City.

Prior to that, Mike worked for large, publicly-traded companies, including Ford Motor Company Headquarters, Schering-Plough Corporation, and the Mead Corporation. He served in various senior management capacities focusing on financial management and corporate development initiatives involving business planning and business acquisitions. Most notably, he served as Vice President of Finance for the Plough Consumer Operations Group, a $1.0 billion group of companies based in Memphis, TN including such well-recognized brands as Maybelline, Coppertone, St. Joseph Baby Aspirin, and Dr. Scholl Foot Products.

Since moving to Florida, Mike served as the Chief Financial Officer for Citrus World Cooperative (Florida Natural Growers) in Lake Wales, Florida. He headed up a strategic, operational, and financial restructuring initiative significantly reducing debt and strengthening the Company’s Balance Sheet.  He also served as the “point person” re a middle-market acquisition of a $50 million complementary food processing company.

Mike earned an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Mike also earned an MBA “With Honors” in Finance from Western Michigan University by graduating first in his MBA class.

Mike and his wife, Donna, have lived in the Lakeland Florida Area for more than 35 years.  They have four (4) children and six (6) grandchildren. Mike is a proud Veteran of the United States Army.
